tastes richer, its colours saturated, its skin
all goosebumps & fevered heat
unquenched

life's heartblood
unchecked now, backwaters
riven through by the course of floods
arising

&

we gaze back
upon such meanders, to touch
our new-won strengths, diving deep
in clear pools upwellings

to ask, yet again
how we could stand such times
before desire made
free
