I can write,
tearing veils from
distance,

and yet, I cannot breach
the final gulf, dividing flesh from
flesh, spirit from spirit
&
mind from other
mind


for, we
can explain
that which divides


but
explanation
cannot unite, it
cannot do other than
confirm that this remains our burden
unceasing, the labour we
must endure

still,
we take care, at
our best, seeking
more than understanding,
for we know that this
is our fate

together
